Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Mississauga is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join Silverthorn Community. You will provide nursing care in line with policy, orders, and the resident plan of care, within the RPN/LPN scope.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the role focuses on resident well-being, teamwork, and effective communication with families, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• The candidate is a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Ability to assess risk and foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and resident plan of care.
• Deliver high-quality nursing and personal care with sound nursing practice.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families; guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers and unregulated team members on the unit.
• Assist with admission, readmission, and status changes; ongoing resident assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Silverthorn Community team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.


• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care


• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff


• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff


• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit


• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses


• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry


• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
