Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in North York, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our team and provide compassionate care to residents in our community. The role reports to the Director of Care and emphasizes building relationships with residents and their families, ensuring comfort and dignity in daily living.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, and the resident plan of care within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care through sound nursing practice principles.
• Create a welcoming environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families; guide staff as needed.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Conduct admissions, readmissions, and status changes with ongoing resident assessment.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Sienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
