Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Brantford, ON is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a temporary part‑time day shift. You will join a dedicated team at Oakwood Commons Community, delivering compassionate nursing care under the direction of the Director of Care.

Responsibilities include carrying out resident plans, supervising care staff, and communicating with residents and families. A valid RPN license in Ontario and experience in geriatrics are preferred. Vulnerable Sector Check may be required.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, orders, and resident plan of care.
• Ensure delivery of high‑quality nursing and personal care.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care and liaise with families, guiding staff
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit
• Manage admissions, readmissions and changes in status with ongoing assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
