Job summary

Spencer House, Orillia (Sienna Senior Living) is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a permanent full-time float position. The role offers a competitive rate under the collective agreement and opportunities for growth within our senior living communities.

You will provide nursing care, support residents and families, supervise care teams, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment in our residence. A valid Ontario RPN license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires RPN license in Ontario.
• Experience in geriatric care is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, orders, and plan of care.
• Deliver high-quality nursing and personal care.
• Foster a welcoming environment through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with families; guide staff.
• Supervise PSW/Unregulated team members on unit.
• Handle admissions, readmissions, and status changes with ongoing assessments.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
