Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) on a part-time basis for 30 hours per week, dayshift options in Stittsville. The role reports to the Director of Care and emphasizes resident-focused nursing within the community setting.

You’ll provide nursing care per policy and physician orders, supervise support staff, and collaborate with families to support residents’ daily life with dignity, comfort and respect.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check as applicable

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician orders, and the resident plan of care within the RPN/LPN scope.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care.
• Create a welcoming and supportive environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and provide guidance to staff.
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and changes in status with ongoing resident assessment

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
