Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Ontario is seeking a licensed Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse to support pediatric clients in a school environment. The role emphasizes building trusting relationships with children and families while delivering care aligned with care plans.

The Nurse will collaborate with families, school staff, and the WeeCare team to ensure safety, comfort, and continuity of care during daily activities. A compassionate, patient-centered approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed per standards.
• Monitor and ensure safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation.
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to caregiver and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Support the child’s cognitive, social, emotional and psychological needs.
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure follow-up.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, including equipment.
• Notify supervisor of safety concerns or incidents.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Pediatric School Registered Practical Nurse in Aisla Craig, ON.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 11:30-13:30

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
