Job summary

WeeCare in Barrie, ON is seeking a Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse to provide skilled in-home care for pediatric clients. You will deliver care per the care plan, offer reassurance to families, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for the child and their family.

The role requires CNO-registered LPN with pediatric experience, BLS, and a recent Vulnerable Sector Check. We offer full-time and part-time options with consistent weekly scheduling and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pediatric Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, per CNO standards
• Monitor and ensure safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain child records and required documentation per CNO standards
• Assist child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, including equipment
• Notify supervisor of concerns related to safety or incidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Position

Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse in Barrie, ON.

Schedule

• Sunday-Saturday, 19:00-08:00

• Full-time and part-time positions available. Nurses will be assigned a consistent weekly schedule of 1-3 shifts per week, depending on their availability and the staffing schedule.

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
