Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Barrie, ON, seeks a Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse to provide in-home care under an individualized plan. You will support the child and family, ensuring safety, comfort, and continuity of care during evenings.

Applicants must be a CNO-registered LPN, with current BLS, a Vulnerable Sector Check, and professional liability coverage. The role offers a compassionate team, flexible scheduling, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience caring for pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards.
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards.
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family.
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings.
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Position

Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse in Barrie, ON.

Schedule

• Three shifts per week; 19:00–08:00

Please note:To be considered for this position, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.
