Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care is seeking a Pediatric School Registered Nurse to support students in a school setting in Aisla Craig, ON. You will provide patient-centered nursing care, including tube care, medication administration per CNO standards, and safety monitoring, while partnering with families and school staff.

The role emphasizes consistent, compassionate care, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for the child and family, with a focus on continuity and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) in place.

Responsibilities

• Provide G/J tube care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed per CNO standards.
• Monitor and safeguard medications and narcotics.
• Maintain child records and required documentation per CNO standards.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, mobility, transfers, and adaptive aids.
• Support child in maximizing abilities and meeting needs.

Position

Pediatric School Registered Nurse in Aisla Craig, ON.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 11:30-13:30

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements
