Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care is seeking a Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse to support clients in Mississauga, ON. You will deliver care per the plan, provide reassurance and consistency, and become a trusted extension of the family.

Responsibilities include medication administration, tube care, and daily living support. You will work a regular schedule and ensure accurate documentation. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and family collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/JG tube care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, per CNO standards.
• Monitor and safeguard medications and narcotics.
• Maintain child’s records and documentation per CNO standards.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes to parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Support child in maximizing abilities and needs.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support.
• Respond to concerns and ensure follow-up.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for equipment and belongings.
• Notify supervisor of safety concerns, incidents or accidents.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse in Mississauga, ON.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday & Thursday; 22:00–08:00

Assignment Dates

• October 22 – November 19, 2026

Please note: To be considered for this position, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
