Job summary

Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance in Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse, multi-unit (CCC and Medical/Surgical) for a part-time position beginning January 4, 2027. The successful candidate must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

You will collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team, provide patient care, monitor outcomes, and administer medications within scope.

Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Diploma from a recognized College.
• BCLS, NRP, Level 1 Breast Feeding and Maternal Child Courses, Palliative Care Education.
• Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias Certification, 12 Lead ECG Interpretation Certification.
• Two years related nursing experience in acute, long term care or community setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of Cerner software information system and related peripherals.

Responsibilities

• Demonstration of adherence to professional practice standards.
• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, staff and community partners.
• Working with a variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric.
• Observing and recording patient behavior. Evaluates patient outcomes.
• Competent operation of medical equipment.
• Performing diagnostic tests within scope of practice.
• Safely administering medications and treatments.
• Contributes to plan of care from admission to discharge.

The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. The Registered Practical Nurse promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with patients, physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members. This is a part-time position that is anticipated to begin on January 4, 2027. The successful candidate will have the ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
