Job summary

AgeCare in Ajax, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The role includes directing Personal Support Workers and liaising with the health care team to ensure high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting.

Applicants must hold a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and maintain good standing.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Knowledge of relevant acts and standards (Long-Term Care Act, Health Disciplines Act, etc.).
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Registered Nurse to implement care and unit procedures.
• Liaises with physicians and health care team; notifies physician of significant changes when RN absent.
• Provides direction to Personal Support Workers and participates in shift reports.
• Ensures residents' care needs are met and care plans are followed.
