Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Ottawa, ON is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse. You will provide nursing care per resident plans and physician orders, delivering high-quality personal care with teamwork and clear family communication.

The role reports to the Director of Care and supports admissions, readmissions, and status changes while ensuring a welcoming, respectful environment for residents living in Sienna communities.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Ability to identify risk and foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and resident care plan within RPN scope.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care with sound nursing practice.
• Oversee resident care, communicate with families, supervise support staff, and manage admissions/readmissions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staffOverseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staffSupervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unitAdmission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
