Job summary

Jarlette Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for an on-site role at 2100 Main St., Val Caron, ON. The RN will ensure optimum resident care, lead clinical practice, and supervise team activities to maintain high-quality outcomes.

Under the Director of Care, responsibilities include assessment, care coordination, documentation, and safety compliance, with opportunities for professional development and advancement within a family-centric organization.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51).
  • Experience in a Long-Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset.
  • Performs care planning and coordination of care in a diverse multidisciplinary care team.
  • Demonstrated use of current care technology.
  • Shall exhibit strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education, training, and professional development.
  • Must ensure all MOH and MLTC requirements are met.
  • Must be computer literate.

Elizabeth Centre is a fully accredited long term care home in Val Caron, Ontario and serves 128 residents. Val Caron, situated in Northeastern Ontario, is located approximately 18 km north of the City of Sudbury's downtown core. The community offers a blend of urban and rural living, with access to natural landscapes and outdoor recreational activities typical of the Sudbury area. The community is known for its family-friendly environment and is part of a region that has a rich history in mining and natural resources.

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for providing and ensuring the provision of optimum care to promote the well-being of each individual resident. The Registered Nurse ensures and provides the delivery of nursing services to meet the assessed needs of the residents.

The key areas of responsibility include: Clinical Practice & Resident Care (assessment, intervention, care coordination, documentation, and wellness), Unit Management & Accountability (operations, team member supervision, resource use), Collaboration & Communication (internal and external coordination, orientation), Quality, Policy, and Education (CQI, risk management, professional development), Team Member Management (evaluation, discipline), Organizational Values & Customer Service, and Health and Safety (safe practices, hazard reporting, OHSA compliance).

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

  • Candidates must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51
