Job summary

Jarlette Health Services is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for Temiskaming Shores, ON. This on-site role supports direct resident care, coordinates with a multi-disciplinary team, and ensures accurate documentation and adherence to care plans.

The RPN will supervise designated nursing personnel, participate in quality improvement, and help orient new staff while managing supplies in a fully accredited long-term care home.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51).
• Experience in a Long-Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset.
• Care planning and coordination within a diverse multidisciplinary care team.
• Demonstrated use of current care technology.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must meet MOH and MLTC requirements and maintain documentation.
• Must be computer literate and engaged in ongoing education.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the role of a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) encompasses a wide range of professional nursing responsibilities in accordance with the standards of nursing practice as outlined by the College of Nurses. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, this role provides support in the coordination of care, overseeing designated nursing personnel, and executing tasks as delegated. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is responsible for delivering direct care in accordance with the established care plans, ensuring the accurate and timely documentation of resident information, facilitating the orientation of new team members and residents, and participating in assigned committees. This position also requires the application of quality improvement and risk management principles, as well as the efficient management of supplies and the meticulous upkeep of the physical environment and equipment.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits

• Candidates must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51
• Experience in a Long-Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset
• Performs care planning and coordination of care within a diverse multidisciplinary care team
• A demonstrated use of current care technology
• Shall exhibit strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ensures all MOH and MLTC requirements are met
• Must demonstrate good communication skills
• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education, training, and professional development
