Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Fergus, ON is seeking a Part-Time Pediatric Registered Nurse to support children in school and home settings. You will deliver care per individualized plans, ensure safety, and collaborate closely with families and the WeeCare team.

The role requires CNO-registered RN status, BLS, and recent Vulnerable Sector Check, with flexible scheduling and a supportive management team. Competitive pay and training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric nursing care per individual care plans.
• Administer and document medications per policy and standards.
• Monitor and ensure safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
• Maintain child records and required documentation per CNO standards.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes to parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Support with mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to child and family.
• Respond to concerns with appropriate follow-up.
• Keep environment and equipment clean and safe.
• Notify supervisor of safety concerns, incidents, or accidents.
• Complete other duties as assigned

Position

Part-Time Pediatric Registered Nurse in Fergus, ON.

Schedule

• Thursday & Friday: 06:45-20:30
• Saturday: 07:00-15:00, as needed

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Provide seizure care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
