Job summary

Brockville General Hospital in Ontario seeks a Registered Nurse in the Level 3 ICU to provide high‑quality critical care to patients and families, under the supervision of the Program Manager.

The successful candidate will participate in ongoing continuing education, ACLS/BLS training on site, and have opportunities to join the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT). Brockville General Hospital supports staff development with 24/7 respiratory therapy support.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum 3–5 years of level 3 ICU experience.
• BCLS and ACLS valid or commitment to complete within 1 year.
• Post-graduate critical care courses preferred.

Position: Registered Nurse

Status: Temporary Part-Time A (up to 6 months with possible extension)

Salary: $41.15-$58.98/Hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Registered Nurse in the level 3 ICU is responsible for the provision of quality nursing care to critically ill patients and their families. The provision of such nursing care is expected to be within the Standards of Nursing Practice (CNO) and meet critical care standards.
The Registered Nurse is expected to maintain competence and skills through on-going participation in provided continuing education and the participation of advance skills training. The Registered Nurse actively participates in CNO Quality Assurance Program.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join an enthusiastic team of professionals who are collaboratively working to progress critical care in the community. Brockville General Hospital believes strongly in supporting staff to help them succeed. We offer onsite training for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) as well as opportunities to complete the critical care nursing course. We also offer onsite peer support, 24/7 respiratory therapy support, after hours learning specialists as well as the opportunity to join our Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT).

REQUIREMENTS:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Post graduate courses in Critical Care preferred or commitment to complete within one year of hire
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of level 3 ICU experience required.
• Previous experience on a Critical Care Response Team (CCRT) preferred
• Valid B.C.L.S. and A.C.L.S. and maintained throughout employment period, or commitment to complete within one year of hire

• Ability to work quickly, independently and adapt to a variety of situations including Code Blue and Resuscitation
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, provide teaching to patients, families and other staff members
