Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound, ON, seeks a part-time Registered Nurse specialized in Critical Care to support patients during the critical phase of illness in adults (and occasionally children). You will report to the Manager of Critical Care and Respiratory Therapy and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include active RN registration in Ontario, 3+ years in CCU, and current BCLS/ACLS/PALS, with willingness to obtain PALS if needed.

Qualifications

• Active registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Minimum 3 years of recent Critical Care experience.
• Critical Care Certificate.
• Current BCLS.
• Current ACLS.
• Current PALS (or willingness to obtain within one year).

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide care for critically ill adults (and occasionally children) during the critical phase of illness.

REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENTWAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the Manager of Critical Care and Respiratory Therapy, the registered nurse focuses on the promotion of health and the assessment of the provision of care of and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic means to critical ill adults and occasionally children, during the critical phase of their illness in order that the client may return to, attain, or maintain optimal function.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required

• Ontario College of Nurses registration
• 3 years of recent Critical Care experience
• Critical Care Certificate
• Current BCLS
• Current ACLS
• Current PALS or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
• Demonstrates an ability to think critically and respond effectively in emergency situations
• Excellent communication, customer service and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
• Ongoing participation with College of Nurses Reflective Practice
• Willingness to routinely participate in staff meetings and unit specific projects
• Completion of all unit specific certifications and Delegated Medical Acts or willingness to do so within allotted time frame
• Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
