Job summary

Brightshores Health System is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Critical Care department in Owen Sound. The role focuses on caring for critically ill adults (and occasionally children) during the critical phase of illness, under the supervision of the Care Manager.

Required are an Ontario RN license, 3 years CC experience, Critical Care Certificate, BCLS, ACLS, and PALS or willingness to obtain within one year. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide care for critically ill adults, and occasionally children, during the acute phase of illness.

REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENTWAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the Manager of Critical Care and Respiratory Therapy, the registered nurse focuses on the promotion of health and the assessment of the provision of care of and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic means to critical ill adults and occasionally children, during the critical phase of their illness in order that the client may return to, attain, or maintain optimal function.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required

• Ontario College of Nurses registration
• 3 years of recent Critical Care experience
• Critical Care Certificate
• Current BCLS
• Current ACLS
• Current PALS or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
• Demonstrates an ability to think critically and respond effectively in emergency situations
• Excellent communication, customer service and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
• Ongoing participation with College of Nurses Reflective Practice
• Willingness to routinely participate in staff meetings and unit specific projects
• Completion of all unit specific certifications and Delegated Medical Acts or willingness to do so within allotted time frame
• Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
