Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services in Labrador City is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Labrador Grenfell Zone team. The RN will provide high‑quality care across medical‑surgical, obstetrics, and other units, while upholding clinical standards and the LGH Model of Nursing.

The role requires current CRNNL licensure, CPR, and breastfeeding education, with additional assets such as NRP/ACLS/TNCC; candidates may be asked to return to service and complete screening as part of the process.

Formación

• Graduation from an approved nursing program is required.
• Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required.
• Breastfeeding education/course is required/noted.
• NRP, ACLS and TNCC are assets for the role.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) is required.
• A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.

Responsabilidades

• Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients across medical-surgical, obstetrics, long term care, mental health/addictions and pediatrics in inpatient and emergency settings;
• Participates in auditing processes as required;
• Documents per professional and organizational standards;
• Administers medications and participates in medication reconciliation;
• Mentors staff and participates in orientation;
• Represents nursing on committees as required;
• Participates in quality assurance initiatives;
• Practices independently according to standards;
• Acts as liaison between clients and other healthcare providers.

About the Role:

The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the Labrador West Health Centre. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Manager of Patient Services. A return in service agreement may be required.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
• Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required ;
• Breastfeeding education/course;
• NRP, ACLS and TNCC and Medivac courses are considered an asset;
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
• The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

• Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients including but not limited to: medical-surgical, obstetrics (pre-natal, labour and delivery, post-partum), long term care, special care, mental
  health/addictions and pediatrics, in both an inpatient and an emergency setting;
• Participates in the auditing process as required;
• Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
• Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
• Participates in the orientation, mentorship and perceptoring of staff;
• Represents nursing on various committees as required;
• Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
• Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;
• Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
