Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound is seeking a part-time, temporary Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role involves assessing and treating critically ill adults, children and infants, using a full spectrum of care—from supportive to rehabilitative measures.

You will work under the ER team, coordinating with physicians, families and staff to ensure patient safety and timely care. Required qualifications include RN licensure in Ontario, BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications,

Qualifications

• Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility
• Current BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• 12–24 months ER/CC experience
• Demonstrate Emergency Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients
• Excellent assessment and interviewing skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration with patients, families and healthcare professionals
• Willingness to participate in staff meetings and unit projects
• Mentor new staff and students
• Ability to stay calm under stress and crisis

REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT

WAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to critically ill adults, children and infants, in order to attain or maintain optimal function.

Required

• Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility

• Physical Assessment course


• Arrhythmia interpretation


• 12- 24 months emergency room/ Critical Care experience


• Demonstrate the Emergency Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluated emergency patients (to be tested)


• Excellent assessment and interviewing skills


• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals


• Demonstrate willingness to participate in staff meeting and unit specific projects


• Willingness to coach and mentor new staff and students


• Ability to prioritize and remain calm during stressful, violent and crisis situations
