Rotation/Shifts

Days and nights, including weekends, 12‑hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
  • Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Three (3) months of recent obstetrics experience.
  • Recent experience in antenatal care.
  • Theoretical knowledge of the care of obstetrical patients and newborns, and ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the nursing process.
  • Demonstrates a desire and ability to participate in patient teaching.
  • Demonstrates a professional and respectful attitude to patients, to the public and to colleagues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health‑care team.
  • Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities.
  • Demonstrates willingness to participate in a 24‑hour Mother Baby Model of Care.
  • Demonstrates understanding of and participation in the evaluation process.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fetal monitoring.
  • A degree in Nursing.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate.
  • Antepartum, High‑Risk course from the University of Ottawa.
  • Proficiency in English and French — oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
