Job summary

Atlantic Dental Centre, conveniently located in the Halifax Shopping Centre, seeks a Dental Assistant to join a dedicated team delivering comprehensive general, cosmetic and preventive dentistry. You will prepare rooms, assist dentists and hygienists, take X-rays, manage sterilization, and educate patients to support excellent care.

The successful candidate will be a registered/certified Dental Assistant with the provincial body and have prior dental assisting experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with the provincial regulatory body.
  • Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

Your Role:

About You:
  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
