Job summary

Dr. Navaneelan & Associates in Cornwall, Ontario is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists, prepare treatment rooms, take X-rays, sterilize instruments, and maintain patient comfort and workflow.

The role is full-time, with Monday to Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am-1:00pm, offering a competitive wage of $25-$30/hour plus benefits including RRSP matching and an Employee Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body.
• NDAEB certification required.
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.
