Job summary

Cedar Dental Centre in Kamloops, BC is seeking a licensed Dental Assistant to join our team and support dentists and hygienists during procedures.

You will prepare rooms, take X-rays, maintain charts, and ensure infection control, privacy, and patient comfort. We offer a competitive hourly wage, ongoing education, and a collaborative, tech-forward practice.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified Dental Assistant with provincial body.
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour

Led by Dr. Simon Hill, we offer a full range of general dentistry services including professional dental cleanings and checkups, fillings, restorations, and laser dental treatments. We are committed to staying at the cutting edge of dental technology effectively while providing quality care. We currently utilize Waterlase® IPlus & Fotona, VELscope, Digital X-Rays, Intra Oral Cameras and Magnification, and iTero® scanners to support varying treatment plans.

Schedule:

• Tuesday and Wednesday
• 8:30am to 5:30pm
• Possibility for one additional day per week

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $30-$36/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

About You:

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
