Job Description: Network and Voice Solutions Specialist
Reporting to the Manager, IT Ontario Operations, you will be part of the Information Technology Department. Working within a global team, you will provide technical expertise in network and voice/radio solutions across all Operations Technology networks, ensuring high availability and meeting business requirements. A broad technical base in IP network operation, RF fundamentals, unified communications/VoIP, and monitoring technology is essential, along with a full understanding of wireless RF technologies such as LTE/5G. You will ensure that goals are achieved while promoting Agnico Eagle’s values, health & safety, and environmental standards.
Operational Technology Networks
- Design, implement, and support OT/Operational network infrastructure, including private LTE/5G and industrial Ethernet platforms, collaborating with the Corporate Industrial IT Networking team.
- Supervise project implementation and support for industrial network projects within AEM Ontario Operations.
- Manage a team of Industrial Networks Technicians.
- Stay updated on developments in industrial network technology to advise and guide strategic decisions.
- Perform site surveys and assist in RF design at mine sites, including distributed antennas and propagation systems.
- Support global IT staff with telecommunication system upgrades.
- Maintain good knowledge of wireless technology environments, tools, techniques, and end-user applications.
- Communicate complex network designs effectively to diverse audiences.
- Conduct network testing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Implement projects with a focus on safety and security practices.
- Notify local IT staff of network outages or issues.
- Support global multi-vendor communication infrastructure, ensuring compliance with standards and cybersecurity guidelines.
- Coordinate with the Global IT Team for solution discussions and sharing.
- Act as escalation support for the corporate team, liaising with vendors as needed.
- Monitor network performance and capacity regularly.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering & RF or equivalent work experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Expertise in LTE, 5G, and 802.11/16 technologies.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate scalable technical solutions.
- Experience in mining, extractive industries, or industrial facilities is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work different hours and travel regionally within Ontario.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Work Schedule
- 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, based at our Timmins Regional Office.
- Regional travel to mine sites and other divisions may be required.
- Option for remote work may be available.
