CIMCO is seeking a seasoned Refrigeration/HVAC professional to join our Manitoba team. You will install, maintain, and repair complex systems, lead field service efforts, and support sales with bids and site assessments.

Ideal candidates bring Red Seal, Gasfitter B, 10+ years journeyman experience, and strong administrative skills. Expect on-call rotation and opportunities to grow within a diverse refrigeration business.

Qualifications

• Refrigeration Mechanic - Red Seal required.
• Gasfitter – B Ticket with permit pulling allowed.
• 10+ years journeyman experience in HVAC/refrigeration.
• Experience with large and small air handling units and various refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and install electrical/controls for refrigeration/HVAC.
• Experience with DDC/PLC/BMS automation systems.
• Self-sufficient and able to generate new work/leads.
• Professional and presentable in customer interactions.
• Strong admin skills: Microsoft 365, tablet-based paperwork, professional emails.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand CIMCO's commercial HVAC/refrigeration team.
• Perform field service: install, maintain, repair systems.
• Conduct maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, service requests.
• Attend bid meetings and assist sales with bids/tender packages.
• Collaborate with sub-contractors for work execution and sales estimates.
• Communicate with customers to recommend upgrades/repairs.
• Generate new work/leads and assist sales follow-up.
• Partner with sales to pursue new business opportunities.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and staff.
• Keep workspaces and equipment clean and organized.
• Submit paperwork accurately and on time.
• Use software and tools to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Ensure safety standards and asset security.
• Work in team to deliver high-quality service.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation; overtime/weekends as needed.

Role Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and expansion of our commercial and HVAC team
• Perform field services to install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Conduct contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, and respond to service requests
• Attend bid meetings, providing valuable insights and assistance for sales to complete bid/tender packages
• Collaborate with sub-contractors to execute work and provide accurate information for sales estimates
• Communicate effectively with customers to recommend necessary upgrades or repairs
• Demonstrate self-sufficiency by generating new work and leads for sales follow-up
• Partner closely with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective communication
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure that all workspaces, including vehicles and equipment, are clean and well-organized
• Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and on time
• Utilize advanced software and technology, along with a variety of hand tools and rigging equipment, to diagnose and repair equipment
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations, maintaining security and accountability of company-issued assets
• Work as part of a team dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service
• Participate in the on-call rotation for 24/7 service coverage, with flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

• Refrigeration Mechanic - Red Seal
• Gasfitter – B Ticket, with the ability to pull permits as needed
• 10+ years of Journeyman experience
• Diverse HVAC and Refrigeration background with experience in:
  • Large and small air handling units
  • Refrigeration systems (Racks, Condensing units, self-contains)
    • Dehumidifiers (mechanical and desiccant)
    • Boilers (natural draft, forced air, and high efficiency)
    • Hydronic systems (heat pumps, heat recovery loops, etc.)
    • Chillers (screws)
    • Ice machines
• Ability to diagnose and install electrical and controls specific to refrigeration and HVAC equipment
• Experience interacting with DDC, PLC, and BMS automation systems
• Self-sufficient and able to generate new work and leads
• Professional and presentable
• Strong administrative skills, including:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 software
  • Familiarity with tablet-based paperwork and documentation
  • Properly filling out paperwork and ability to write professional emails
  • Providing detailed information for sales follow-up when needed
• Physical ability to complete all required job tasks.
• Valid driver's license

Additional Desired Qualifications (not required):

• Gasfitter – "A" Ticket
• 15+ years of Journeyman experience
• CO2 refrigeration experience (Trans-critical, Sub-Critical, and Cascade)
• Experience with centrifugal chillers
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems (industrial and recreational)
• Estimating and Sales Experience
