Job summary

Kal Tire is seeking a Journeyperson/Journeyman Automotive Service Technician in New Minas, NS. You will perform maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles in a safe, well-equipped shop.

You’ll mentor apprentices, advance toward a Lead Technician role, and join a safety‑oriented, growth‑driven team that values quality service and career progression.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with brakes, suspension, and wheel alignments.
• Experience with inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical services including brakes, suspension, diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor apprentices and support skill development in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a team on vehicles from passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience with front‑end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.
