Kal Tire in Calgary, AB is seeking a Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles. The role offers a clear path to becoming a Lead Technician with a focus on safety and quality.

The successful candidate will mentor apprentices, work with a skilled team, and support ongoing growth within a well-equipped shop. Valid Alberta license and 3+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Alberta CVIP license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services, including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices, supporting their skill development.
• Collaborate with a team on vehicles from standard cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential service opportunities with the Sales team.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified
• A valid driver’s license.
• Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Alberta Commercial Vehicle Inspection License, is preferred
• Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
