Job summary

Cascades is seeking a Recycling Sorter- EG in Ottawa. You’ll be on the floor sorting and grading recycled materials, ensuring placement according to department standards while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role offers full-time hours with multiple shifts (morning, afternoon, midnight) and a comprehensive benefits package including group insurance, retirement plan, and profit sharing. Training is provided to support your success.

Responsibilities

• Sort, grade and place recycled materials according to department requirements and production standards.
• Perform housekeeping, equipment and yard cleaning, and other duties as assigned by the lead hand.
• Assist truck drivers and support the team with various tasks as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team to ensure smooth operations.

What You’ll Do

As a Recycling Sorter- EG, you'll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape.

Your Day-to-day

• Perform other duties as laid out by the Department Lead Hand e.g. housekeeping, equipment and yard cleaning, Schaeffer washing, snow removal, assisting truck drivers, etc.
• To safely and efficiently perform sorting, grading and placement of recycled materials in their appropriate areas according to the specific Departments' requirements and production standards
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong communication skills
• Support the team and pitch in on various tasks as needed
