Job summary

Cascades Recovery+ is hiring for a full-time, permanent role based at 8545 Willowcale Rd, Prince George (BC). You will lead the afternoon shift, train staff on safety and equipment operation, and help meet production targets while maintaining a clean and compliant work environment.

The position requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and comfort working in a warehouse with seasonal weather.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of job experience in a similar role.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel and climb stairs.
  • Work in confined spaces and outdoors in seasonal weather.

Type of position : Permanent, full time (40 hours per week)

Offered salary : 31,18$/h

Leadership & Administration

  • Direct, coordinate, and support employees on the afternoon shift.
  • Train, coach, and mentor employees in safe work practices, equipment operation, and production procedures.
  • Promote a positive work environment through respectful and professional communication.
  • Monitor production targets and ensure shift objectives are achieved.
  • Complete and submit daily production reports, safety reports, inspections, and other administrative documentation.
  • Communicate operational issues, maintenance concerns, and staffing requirements to supervisors and management.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.

Equipment Operation & Material Processing

  • Complete and submit equipment pre-trip inspection forms and report any defects that may affect safe operation.
  • Operate mobile and stationary equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, bag tippers, front-end loaders, conveyors, and balers.
  • Load and unload recyclable materials from tractor trailers, roll-off trucks, containers, five-ton trucks, and other transport vehicles.
  • Receive, inspect, weigh, record, and scan recyclable materials.
  • Sort and prepare recyclable materials for processing and shipment.
  • Push, dump, or feed recyclable materials onto conveyors, baler belts, silos, or bunkers.
  • Stack, stage, and organize processed materials for storage and shipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting minor operational issues and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Perform general housekeeping in the plant, yard, and common areas to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure all required safety and quality inspections are completed daily.
  • Enforce company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct workplace observations and address unsafe acts or conditions promptly.
  • Participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure employees are using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company policies at all times.
