Job summary

Cascades in Rexdale, Etobicoke, Ontario, is seeking a Machine Operator to ensure safe, efficient production and high-quality output. You will set up, operate, and monitor equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machine operating experience in manufacturing
• Proven experience with machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and changeovers
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications and technical documents
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all Health & Safety procedures
• Experience with manufacturing systems such as SAP
• Strong math and measurement skills
• Experience with laminating, die-cutting, printing, converting, or packaging equipment is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, adjust, and monitor manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
• Perform machine changeovers and production line adjustments
• Monitor product quality and make corrections to ensure specifications are met
• Complete production documentation and use SAP and electronic systems for inventory and production tracking
• Conduct routine inspections and support preventative maintenance activities
• Troubleshooting mechanical issues and escalating concerns when required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and Health & Safety standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with team members, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to achieve production targets

• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all Health & Safety procedures
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications, work instructions, and technical documentation
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities
• Computer proficiency and experience using manufacturing systems such as SAP
• Strong mathematical and measurement skills
• Experience with laminating, die-cutting, printing, converting, or packaging equipment is considered an asset
