Ontario Health atHome is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Recruitment Specialist with a strong understanding of best practices in sourcing, candidate engagement, and recruitment technology. In this role, you will play a key part in attracting top talent to support our mission of delivering high-quality care across the province.

What will you do?

Recruiting Activities
  • Coordinate all duties related to internal or external recruitment
  • Interpret policy and the Collective Agreement related to this portfolio for Managers and staff
  • Ensure all services comply with relevant employment and labour legislation, the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Collective Agreement, and agency policies
  • Lead end-to-end internal and external recruitment processes
  • Develop job postings using current descriptions, revising as needed, and validating position requirements with senior staff
  • Monitor and ensure posting requests align with current budgets
  • Supervise and expedite posting and approval processes through management channels
  • Collaborate with Finance regarding FTE redesigns and postings outside of budget
  • Conduct initial resume screenings and forward suitable candidates to Hiring Managers
  • Manage resume flow across all locations
  • Maintain recruitment tracking tools and provide updates to management
  • Analyze recruitment data and prepare reports as needed
  • Create and update Job Descriptions collaboratively with hiring teams
  • Recommend testing procedures based on position requirements and coordinate candidate testing
  • Schedule and track interviews
  • Develop behavioral interview tools in collaboration with hiring managers, ensuring legislative adherence
  • Prepare offer letters and packages, monitor wage grid exceptions, and manage approval processes
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Recruitment-related working groups
External Recruiting and Orientation Focus
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle externally
  • Implement external recruitment schedules in consultation with relevant departments
  • Post jobs on relevant external sites and liaise with advertising agencies
  • Represent Ontario Health atHome to potential applicants and guide candidates through the process
  • Conduct reference checks and make hiring recommendations
  • Present offers and coordinate onboarding sessions
  • Assist with new hire documentation and background checks
  • Manage responses from candidates and maintain recruitment records
Internal Recruiting Focus
  • Handle staffing requests and job postings internally
  • Manage applicant lists and candidate eligibility based on collective agreements
  • Recommend and facilitate hiring decisions
  • Coordinate employee transfers, terminations, and job share requests
  • Maintain recruitment records and foster positive relations within the organization

What must you have?

  • Post-secondary training in Human Resources Management or related field, or equivalent experience
  • CHRL designation or progress toward it is an asset
  • 3-5 years of HR experience in a unionized environment
  • College Diploma in HR Management, Business, Payroll, or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of recruitment experience
  • Administrative experience supporting senior positions
  • Knowledge of HR tools, systems, and office procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet research

What would give you the edge?

  • Experience in unionized HR environments
  • Knowledge of payroll, recruitment, and HR systems (e.g., ADP, ATS)
  • Understanding of Collective Agreements
  • Experience with internal and external recruitment activities
