Schlegel Villages in Hamilton, Ontario, is seeking a Recreation Aide to join our team. The role offers a part-time, on-site position with a starting rate of CAD 23.26 per hour under the collective agreement.

You will plan and implement resident activities, fostering social engagement and holistic well-being across our Village community. Ideal candidates are enrolled in or hold a diploma/degree in recreation, leisure studies, or gerontology, and demonstrate a caring, team‑oriented approach.

The hiring rate for this role is $23.26 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) before starting. Are you willing to obtain and provide a VSC upon hire?

• Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
• Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
• An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
