The Village of Riverside Glen is seeking a Recreation Team Member to join Schlegel Villages. The role is anchored in delivering holistic recreational programs for residents and supporting a resident-centred social culture at the community.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies or gerontology.
• Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program.
• Experience facilitating group activities and programs.
• Proficiency documenting residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities.
• Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.

• Work every other weekend.

The hiring rate for this role is $19.78 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

As a new Recreation Team Member you will:

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
• Experience facilitating group activities and programs
• Proficiency documenting residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities
• Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
• Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents

As a new Recreation Team Member joining our Village Team it would be an ASSET but not required for you to having the following:

• Hold a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
• Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
• Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
