Are you a debt caseworker looking to make a direct, transformative difference in your local community?

Citizens Advice York is seeking a dedicated Specialist Debt Adviser to deliver tailored, high-impact debt advice to individuals and households facing severe financial hardship. Driven by ongoing cost-of-living pressures, demand for debt advice across the city continues to rise sharply. In this role, you will provide crucial, early-intervention support to help York residents break free from problem debt and build long-term financial resilience.

You will deliver mostly face-to-face appointments across strategic community venues, including the Travellers Trust, Community Furniture Store, Lidgett Grove and Marjorie Waite Court as well as offering telephone advice where clients prefer. Working in partnership with the City of York Council, you will prioritise referrals from households identified through the Low Income Family Tracker (LIFT), council tax arrears lists, and local hardship fund applications.
