Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting in Ontario is seeking a student/Co-Op to support the Quality Engineer across carryover programs, new launches and prototyping. You will analyze quality issues (PPM) and productivity (OEE), and help update measurables for monthly QOS reviews and Ergonomic Committee meetings.

Assist with quotations for current and new programs, perform Ergonomic/Safety risk assessments and audits, and support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Less than 1 year of work-related experience.
  • Enrollment in a post-secondary program in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or general assembly manufacturing an asset.
  • PLC experience an asset.
  • Basic Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to read and understand AutoCAD layouts and blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of Ergonomics an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Quality Engineer for all carryover programs, new program launches and engineering prototype builds.
  • Analyze issues affecting internal quality (PPM) and productivity issues (OEE - overall equipment efficiency).
  • Update measurables, presentation material, and other tracking documents for monthly Quality Operating System (QOS) reviews and Ergonomic Committee Meetings.
  • Assist with quotations for current programs (continuous improvement opportunities) and potential new programs (new fixtures, equipment, processes, etc.).
  • Perform Ergonomic/Safety risk assessments and assist with quarterly audits.
  • Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it effects quality and the environment for our customers.
  • Perform other duties as required.
