Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting in Ontario seeks a Quality/Quality Engineering professional to ensure part quality, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across production and supplier interfaces.

Responsibilities include overseeing containment areas, aligning with customer requirements, and leading training and performance evaluations to maintain high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in engineering or related field preferred
  • Superior organizational skills required
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills required
  • Knowledge of generally accepted quality control procedures required
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in a quality/quality engineering role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements related to part quality
  • Implement corrective actions for non-conforming parts in-house or at customer locations
  • Review and update division policies, standards and procedures
  • Provide leadership for attainment and maintenance of business system standards
  • Support production requirements, overtime, toolroom, R&D, new programs and program improvements
  • Oversee quarantine/containment areas to ensure timely disposition of material
  • Collaborate with Quality Manager to address customer concerns
  • Foster a Techform culture focused on customer respect and high quality service
  • Ensure safety, quality standards communication and enforcement within department
  • Identify training needs and close gaps; conduct annual performance evaluations
  • Maintain housekeeping and administer company policies including wages and benefits
  • Coordinate with engineering, tool room, quality control, accounting, HR and IT
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and attainment of operating system goals

Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.Job Responsibilities:Salary Range: $60,000-$85,000Support daily Fast Response meetingsEnsure that the company conforms to all customer requirements related to part quality.Ensure that appropriate corrective action is in place where non-conforming part issue arise in house or at customer locations.Continually review and upgrade policies, standards and procedures for the division.Provide clear direction and leadership in the attainment and maintenance of the business system standards.Provide support for production requirements, overtime requirements, toolroom, R&D, new programs andprogram improvements.Oversee the maintenance of the quarantine/containment areas to ensure a steady turnaround of materialincluding timely disposition.Work with the Quality Manager to ensure prompt attention to all customer concerns.Develop a Techform culture, which recognizes the role of customers as an integral part of the business,deserving of respect and high quality service.Adhere to company policies and procedures;Ensure that safety & quality standards are communicated and enforced within the department.Ensure that training requirements for each departmental employee are identified and plans are in place toclose any gaps.Initiate, where required, employee counseling and disciplinary action;Perform a minimum of one yearly performance evaluation for each departmental employee;Maintain housekeeping standards within the department;Ensure the fair administration of all company policies including wage and benefit packages;Maintain communication and utilize the expertise of other departments including engineering, tool room,quality control, accounting, human resources and IT;Ensure the efficient execution of responsibilities as outlined in the job descriptions for each position within the departmentGeneral PointsEnsure that all environmental requirements are identified and addressed when performing duties.Ensure that all safety requirements are being carried out when performing duties.Comply with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements.Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.Provide support in the attainment of Techform's operating system goals as outlined by the KPI’s.Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate.QualificationsA post secondary education in an engineering or related field is preferred and/or certified quality background;Superior organizational skills are required;Superior written and verbal communication skills are required;A thorough knowledge of generally accepted quality control procedures is required;Prefer a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a quality/quality engineering roleSite Benefits:A great work experience with a diverse and dedicated workforceA strong focus on safety and health and wellness (fitness membership discounts)Five and a half (5.5.) paid personal daysCompetitive extended health benefitsGroup RRSP matching programProfit Sharing PlanTeam appreciation lunches and eventsEducation Reimbursement ProgramContinuous Improvement and Development CultureAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
