Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting in Ontario seeks a seasoned maintenance supervisor to lead daily maintenance activities for production lines. You will plan preventative programs, coordinate resources, troubleshoot issues, and develop technician training to improve machine availability and safety.

The role requires Millwright/Electrician certification, 5+ years supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and blueprints.

Qualifications

  • Millwright/Electrician certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years experience, supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Some experience in a Tool and Die environment would be an asset.
  • A strong working knowledge of best practice set-up processes and challenges.
  • An understanding of PLC programming, hydraulics and pneumatics, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance program design and delivery.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
  • Plan and schedule preventative maintenance programs.
  • Work with production management and maintenance lead hands for each setup classification in resource assignment.
  • Troubleshoot problems with current production tools to ensure timely and appropriate repair.
  • Develop and implement effective mechanic training programs.
  • Ensure standard procedures related to setup are in place and followed.
  • Monitor and enhance the preventative maintenance program for all production equipment.
  • Ensure spare parts requirements for production equipment are identified and maintained.
  • Coordinate with continuous improvement teams on tooling and setup efficiency.
  • Maintain strong channels of communication across teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain accurate records.
