Job summary

Magna is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting group in Ontario. You will lead root cause analyses, communicate quality changes to Engineering, and support APQP activities for new product launches.

You will develop shop floor procedures, drive corrective actions, and work cross-functionally to improve in-house rejections and cost of quality while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted Quality Control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Root Cause Analysis and leadership in resolving customer concerns.
  • Communicate quality-related changes to Engineering to apply corrective actions for future cases.
  • Support troubleshooting to address high priority customer concerns.
  • Support APQP activities for new product launches.
  • Develop shop floor procedures to ensure permanent corrective actions.
  • Assist Quality leadership to improve problem resolution and metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve internal/external quality performance.
  • Benchmark Magna quality practices against industry standards for continuous improvement.
  • Lead timely responses to customer complaints (e.g., 8-D, 7-D, 5-Why).
  • Ensure environmental and safety requirements are addressed in duties.
