Job description

Link Personnel has been instructed by our client, a leading medical device manufacturer, to hire a Quality Control Technician on a 9 month contract. This is a role well suited to a Technician, looking for the next step in their career with a move into Quality, and offers the possibility of permanency thereafter. Shifts are: Either day shift or 7.00am to 3.30pm and 3.00pm to 11.30pm Alternate weeks.

Salary: €42,000

Responsibilities:

• Performing inspection operations on sub-assemblies, modules and systems using engineering drawings, schematics, flow diagrams, specifications and methodologies;
• Troubleshooting faults down to component level.
• Preparing samples, reagents and diluents for chemical testing of systems and modules;
• Establishing causes of malfunction and non-conformance in the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and chemical operation of systems with a minimum loss of test time;
• Assisting Engineering in the initial validation, installation and verification of new test procedures, equipment and products;
• Overseeing and checking any repair work that has to be carried out to ensure that the fault is corrected;
• Working with other departments to solve ongoing problems.
• Assisting Engineering in the design of test fixtures and modules inspection/test procedures;
• Completing and maintaining all necessary paperwork, test data etc. for each system/module to ensure that accurate Quality records are available.
• Working with Quality procedures, relating to material flow, material handling, processing of defective material, acceptance and rejection procedures, ECN monitoring, concessions etc.
• Awareness of the risks involved i.e. in handling dangerous corrosive or infectious materials adhering to strict safety rules.
• Training in new personnel.

Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing environment;
• Experience as a Test Technician in a mechanical or electrical environment a plus.
• Related third level qualification QQI Level 6 and above.
• Excellent PC Skills.
• SAP Experience is a PLUS
