Maintenance Technician Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for scheduling, prioritizing, and completing daily duties related to equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Completing reports and paperwork daily to track time and resource usage.
  2. Inspecting equipment to determine servicing needs.
  3. Performing preventive and basic maintenance on structures and equipment, including dispensers, POS systems, computers, security systems, HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, signs, and pumps.
  4. Following manufacturer procedures and calibrating equipment according to legal standards.
  5. Maintaining company vehicles and safeguarding equipment and parts.
  6. Recommending when external contractors are needed.
  7. Assisting with other maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  8. Attending training sessions to learn specific maintenance procedures.
  9. Ensuring compliance with laws and company policies through training and certifications, including maintaining state-specific Class “B” UST System Operator Certification.
  10. Providing training on equipment operation and testing tanks/lines as per environmental guidelines.
  11. Working outdoors in various weather conditions on equipment.
  12. Completing additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Maintenance-related tasks, with preferred experience in pumps, dispensers, or skill trades such as plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.

Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, strong communication, professional conduct, physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, crawl in access areas, and operate tools and equipment.

Additional Requirements
  • Availability 24/7 on-call for emergencies.
  • Valid Driver’s License with appropriate class for vehicle operation.
  • Compliance with DOT regulations and maintenance of driver logs.
