AGI is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to lead QA efforts at its Winnipeg facility. You will guide QA staff in design, testing, and deployment of Westeel applications, ensuring defect-free products that meet technical specs.

Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining QMS, interpreting ISO standards, training personnel, managing nonconforming material, and coordinating with Customer Service to resolve issues. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

  • University degree or College diploma in Quality Management or related discipline.
  • ISO and manufacturing knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Interpret standards to develop quality processes and policies.
  • Train personnel on inspections and tests; manage nonconforming product policy.
  • Handle warranty claims and administer quality records per procedures.
  • Coordinate inspections and final product inspections; maintain KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to resolve complaints professionally.
  • Audit quality processes and keep Quality Assurance Manual current.
  • Maintain quality certifications, registrations, and memberships.

Position Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator

Location: 450 Desautels Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2H 3E6

The Opportunity

The Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator will provide technical guidance to the QA Staff in the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of all Westeel applications. The QA Coordinator maintains ultimate responsibility for assuring that all products are defect free and compliant with technical specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the appropriate Quality Management System (QMS) is established, implemented, and maintained
  • Interpret standards (ISO or other) to develop processes that improve quality
  • Work in conjunction with Management to establish quality policies, objectives, and work instructions
  • Ensure that all current and future quality standards and procedures are adhered to and maintained under the Production Support Manager
  • Provide relevant training to personnel involved in process inspections and tests
  • Administer the nonconforming product policy and procedure
  • Manage, document, and process warranty claims with respect to purchased materials and customer-supplied products
  • Conduct inspections and tests as per Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, and be responsible for all final inspections
  • Ensure an efficient and effective final inspection process for all plant-manufactured products is followed and maintained
  • Coordinate personnel involved in nonconformance and the disposition of materials and products
  • Work collaboratively with the Customer Service Team, proactively assisting in the management and resolution of customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Maintain relevant quality records in accordance with established procedures pertaining to contracts
  • Audit the current quality processes
  • Administer the quality policies and objectives of the QMS and ensure that the Quality Assurance Manual is kept current
  • Ensure all quality records are completed according to procedure
  • Maintain any quality certifications, registrations, and memberships
  • Act as the main contact for outside inspections
  • Manage Quality Notifications in the system
  • Own the Quality KPIs and provide continuous reporting on objectives
  • Solve problems in coordination with Lean Manufacturing programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • University degree or College diploma in Quality Management, or a related discipline
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • ISO and manufacturing experience is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to work under minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Working with MRP/ERP programs
  • Knowledge of metal manufacturing processes
  • Interpretation of manufacturing drawings
