AGI - Ag Growth International is seeking a Production Supervisor at our Winnipeg, MB facility. The role leads a unionized hourly team, coordinates production activities, and ensures safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will collaborate across departments, provide coaching and training, and support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational performance. The position emphasizes safety adherence, cross-functional teamwork, and effective communication to meet production goals

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager at AGI-Westeel. The Production Supervisor leads a team of unionized hourly employees in the plant. Through coordinating with various departments, the Production Supervisor ensures that production requirements are met to assist in the smooth flow of order to delivery, all while adhering and contributing to a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices are followed
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, standards, and company policies
  • Participate in Operational Health & Safety Committee meetings and safety initiatives
  • Conduct safety, quality, and LEAN audits and investigations
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of unionized employees to achieve production, quality, and safety objectives
  • Provide training, cross-training, and ongoing development opportunities to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and workforce flexibility
  • Coordinate and schedule production activities to meet operational requirements
  • Issue work orders to crew leaders and ensure accurate completion and closure of work orders
  • Monitor daily production performance and provide regular status updates
  • Participate in daily production meetings
  • Assist Engineering in troubleshooting and resolving production-related issues
  • Assist Administration with purchasing activities and material planning
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support efficient operations and the timely delivery of customer orders
  • Review and approve employee time and attendance records
  • Approve and coordinate employee vacation schedules
  • Assist with disciplinary processes as required
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency
  • Provide backup support for other branch positions as required
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Agriculture, Mechanical, or Industrial industries
  • Innovative, ability to identify and implement new processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the team and project
  • Developed communication skills, written/oral
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc.
  • Proficient in working with computers and various software applications
