Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Administrator

Location: St. Boniface, MB

The Opportunity

The Shipping & Receiving Administrator is responsible for coordinating the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products to support production and customer delivery timelines. This position ensures accurate documentation, inventory control, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role requires effective communication with production, procurement, and logistics teams to maintain a smooth flow of materials throughout the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks, trailers, and sea containers.
  • Pick, stage, and prepare materials for customer orders and shipments.
  • Transport materials between designated warehouse, yard, and storage locations.
  • Verify material quantities and inspect materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Ensure materials are properly stored, organized, labeled, and secured in designated locations.
  • Assist with the preparation and loading of international shipments into sea containers.
  • Load and secure materials in sea containers using proper blocking, bracing, and load‑securing methods to prevent damage during transit.
  • Inspect containers prior to loading to ensure they are clean, safe, and suitable for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate identification and segregation of materials throughout the warehouse and yard.
  • Perform daily inspections of forklifts and material handling equipment and report any defects or maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse, yard, and storage areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse personnel to ensure efficient material flow and on‑time shipments.
  • Assist with quarterly inventory counts, annual physical inventories, and other inventory verification activities as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, warehouse organization, and operational efficacy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training is a plus. Post‑secondary education is an asset.
  • Enrollment in CITT/PLog designation an asset.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, email).
  • Certified to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks, or willing to obtain certification.
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Able to work flexible shifts.
