Job summary

City of Toronto is seeking a Management Consultant to join the Business Solutions Services team in Toronto. You will provide value-added consulting to senior leadership and technology delivery teams, guiding strategy development through implementation with focus on process improvements, delivery frameworks, and governance.

You will lead or support cross-functional teams, apply agile methods, and contribute to performance reporting and benefit realization.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in public or business administration or related field.
MBA is an asset.
Experience in management consulting and strategic planning in ICT/public sector.
Experience managing enterprise-wide technology projects with budget and timeline oversight.
Knowledge of Agile project management and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
Experience with policy development, governance and risk management.

Responsibilities

Implements detailed plans and policies regarding program requirements.
Administers assigned budget within approved limits.
Provides client-driven, value-added management consulting to diverse projects.
Analyzes technology programs and advises senior managers on strategic directions.
Shapes projects with stakeholders in terms of focus, scope and objectives.
Directs and applies research methods, collects data and analyzes findings.
Leads cross-departmental teams and governance processes.
Supports organizational change during transition phases.
Contributes to benefits realization planning for portfolio projects.
Promotes organizational learning and interdepartmental collaboration.
