Job summary

The District of Lake Country is seeking a permanent, full-time Communications Advisor based in Lake Country, BC. You will support the communications and public engagement work plan by developing and coordinating corporate communications, including the Annual Report, news releases, and public-facing materials.

You will collaborate with the Communications Lead, Senior Leadership Team, and departments to support media relations, provide communications advice, and ensure consistent brand standards

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years' work experience, preferably in local government or public sector.
  • IAP2 Canada training or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and deliver communications planning for District projects, programs, services, and initiatives.
  • Develop engaging content across channels, including web, media, publications, and public communications.
  • Provide communications advice to leaders and departments, mitigating risks and supporting issues management.
  • Support media relations, public engagement, and community outreach with coordinated messaging and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate to ensure consistent messaging, brand standards, and emergency communications alignment.
  • Other related duties as required.
