Job summary

District of Lake Country is seeking a full-time Digital Communications and Public Engagement Advisor based in Lake Country, BC, for a one-year term. The role focuses on digital communications, social media, content creation, and community engagement under the Communications Lead.

Qualifications include a diploma in Communications or related fields and at least three years’ experience in local government or public sector. IAP2 training is an asset, and a BC Driver’s License is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related discipline with minimum three years’ experience.
• IAP2 Canada training or equivalent is considered an asset.
• A valid BC Drivers License is required.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging content for the District's website, social media channels, newsletters, advertising campaigns, and other communication platforms.
• Manage the District's social media presence, including content planning, publishing, community engagement, and performance tracking.
• Support public engagement initiatives through online engagement, surveys, community events, information sessions, and outreach activities.
• Provide communications advice and develop communication plans and material for District projects, programs, and initiatives; and
• Monitor and analyze communication and engagement metrics, support emergency communications, and assist senior leadership with sensitive and confidential communication matters.
