Job description

The Treasury & Payment Solutions (TPS) Proposal Manager/Writer will work closely with various partners across the enterprise, including Sales, Product Management, and Legal/Insurance, to develop competitive sales proposals and related materials in response to the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The candidate must be bilingual in French and English. The ideal candidate will also have comprehensive knowledge of B2B and Provincial & Local government RFP processes and an understanding of treasury management products and services.

APMP Certification and experience working in RFP automation software (e.g., Responsive, Loopio, Seismic, etc.) are strongly desired.

Coordinates and/or completes responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the designated product portfolio to secure new business and retain existing relationships across North America for BMO Financial Group. Responsibilities include:

  1. Influencing and negotiating to achieve business objectives.
  2. Recommending and implementing solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  3. Assisting in the development of strategic plans for each proposal.
  4. Identifying emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making within the process.
  5. Helping determine business priorities and the best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  6. Building effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders and ensuring alignment.
  7. Overseeing the quality and accuracy of content in the RFP repository.
  8. Managing databases to ensure data alignment and integration per data governance standards.
  9. Breaking down strategic problems, analyzing data, and providing insights and recommendations.
  10. Leading or participating in the design, implementation, and management of core business/group processes.
  11. Using systems (e.g., customized reports, tracking reports) to manage information.
  12. Integrating information from multiple sources for efficient processes and reporting.
  13. Identifying and clarifying proposal opportunities and needs.
  14. Collaborating with subject matter experts to determine strategic approach and proposal content.
  15. Gathering proposal information, coordinating submissions, and communicating risks.
  16. Maintaining quality using standardized templates and following proposal writing standards.
  17. Creating high-quality, customized RFP responses and proofreading content.
  18. Meeting proposal deadlines through effective planning and stakeholder reviews.
  19. Providing support services, including overseeing production and delivery of submissions.
  20. Participating in post-submission debriefs and supporting continuous improvement.
  21. Providing consulting, analytical, and technical support as needed.
  22. Working independently on non-routine situations and broader responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Typically 5-7 years of relevant experience and a related post-secondary degree or equivalent.

Work Model:
This is a salaried, full-time position based in Toronto, ON, with a remote work model and occasional in-person meetings (1-2 days/month).
