Role: In support ofAltaLink\'s growth strategy, the Project Delivery Group is seeking a Project Manager responsible for the delivery coordination of substation-related capital projects. The primary focus is to manage design, cost, quality, schedule and safety for multiple projects, including both customer-driven projects and internally driven Capital Upgrade & Replacement projects. This position is based in Calgary and reports to the Manager, Substation Delivery within the Projects Department.

Responsibilities

• Effectively setup and manage multiple projects within a matrix organization, up to $5 million per project and up to $60 million total annual budget.
• Actively manage and report on Safety and Environment with a commitment to safe practices.
• Lead teams through siting and regulatory approval processes.
• Serve as a key client contact during project execution, reporting progress and obtaining approvals for scope and schedule changes.
• Manage consultants and contractors during project execution.
• Coordinate multiple customers and changing priorities.
• Report project status, finances and schedule to senior management.
• Maintain AltaLink\'s identity with clients and stakeholders affected by Substation Projects.
• Evaluate future-year project feasibility and create a Project Proposal with preliminary scope, estimates and schedule.
• Coordinate scope, objectives, accountabilities and commitments with consultants and AltaLink project team members.

Requirements

• University bachelor\'s degree in engineering required.
• Professional Engineer with APEGA or eligible for immediate registration with APEGA.
• Minimum of four (4) years of related engineering experience.
• Two years\' experience in a project management role in transmission/utility/EP C is an asset.
• Proven ability/experience in the responsibilities listed above.
• Experience with Substation engineering/construction is an asset.
• Project Management Certification is an asset.
• Experience leading multi-discipline teams within a matrix organization.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and strong communication/interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment and manage multiple competing priorities.
• Strong teamwork skills; SAP experience is an asset.
• Proven track record of good performance and attendance.
